Cookies and storage
What we store, and why.
Short version: this site sets no cookies. Everything it keeps is in your browser's local storage, all of it is needed for the site or the application to work, and none of it is shared with advertisers.
The short version
- We do not set any cookies on these public pages. There is no tracking pixel, no advertising tag and no third-party analytics running today.
- The homepage video is served from our own servers rather than embedded from a video platform, so watching it involves no third party at all.
- We do use your browser's local storage for a small number of things the site and the application cannot work without. They are all listed below.
- The optional categories in the preferences panel exist so that if we ever add analytics, it is off until you say otherwise. Nothing optional runs right now.
- You can change your choice at any time, and declining changes nothing about what you can see or do here.
The full list
Everything this site keeps in your browser.
If you open your browser's storage inspector, this is what you will find. If you find something here that is not on this list, we would genuinely like to know.
| Name | Type | Category | Purpose | Retained for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| tradedeck.cookie-consent | Local storage | Strictly necessary | Remembers the choice you made about optional storage, so you are not asked on every page. | Until you clear it, or until the categories change and we ask again. |
| theme | Local storage | Strictly necessary | Remembers whether you chose a light or dark appearance inside the application. | Until you clear it. |
| token, refresh_token, user | Local storage | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in to the TradeDeck application and identifies which account is active. Only set after you sign in; never set by these public pages. | Until you sign out or clear your browser storage. |
Categories
Three categories, two of them off by default.
Strictly necessary
Always onSign-in state, appearance preference, and the record of your choice on this page. Without these the application cannot keep you signed in and this banner would reappear on every page.
Analytics
Off by defaultTells us which pages get read and where people stop reading, so we can fix the parts that are not working. Aggregated, never used to identify you.
Nothing in this category is running today.
Marketing
Off by defaultLets us measure whether a campaign or an event actually brought anyone here. Turning this off does not change anything you can see on the site.
Nothing in this category is running today.
Your control
Change your mind whenever you like.
The same panel is reachable from the small cookie control in the corner of every page and from “Cookie preferences” in the footer. Your choice is stored with the date you made it and the version of the categories it applied to. If we ever add a category, that version changes and we ask again rather than assuming your earlier answer covers it.
You can also clear everything at the browser level. In most browsers this sits under Settings, then Privacy, then site data, where you can remove stored data for a single site or block it entirely. Clearing our entries signs you out of the application and makes the banner appear again, which is the expected result rather than a fault.
Browsers also send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal in some configurations. Since we run no analytics or advertising, there is nothing for those signals to switch off here. If that changes, this page changes with it.
Questions about any of this
If you want to know what we hold, or you think something is stored that is not described above, write to us and a person will answer.
This notice describes how the site behaves today and is not legal advice. A separate privacy policy covering how we handle the data you put into the application is still to be published. For how access control and the audit trail work inside TradeDeck, see why you can rely on it.
